CRS Helping Hands provides meals to people in 40+ countries and supports development programs to address the root causes of hunger.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of meals are distributed through the CRS Helping Hands program. Due to COVID-19, climate change and conflict, food insecurity continues to rise around the globe. Helping Hands meal packaging events ensure meals are packaged and sent to meet emergency food needs for vulnerable communities and support longer term programs to address food insecurity.
Examples of programs supported by Helping Hands meal packaging events:
- Equipment and training to create community gardens that support humanitarian centers to meet food needs of their program participants and generate income to continue service to at-risk populations such seniors, people with developmental disabilities and young women escaping abuse and forced marriage.
- Vocational training for at-risk young women in weaving, sewing, cosmetology and business to create an income source and the ability to care for themselves and their families.
- Assistance to residential care facilities to create family-based care programs that place children in nurturing families and provide them with supportive services.
Your support has done all this, and so much more.
